K+M's Lush and Vibrant Mt. Hood Wedding
Kevin and Maya were wonderful to work with for their day of items, and were incorporating elements from both Indian and Vietnamese cultures, which meant some beautiful red hues throughout. I do love pops of red against all the greens of the Oregon Gorge.
We created a faux wood seating chart that fit well within the greenhouse space at Mt. Hood Organic Farms for cocktail hour, with the intention of still using neutral colors and natural textures to add to the landscape, rather than to compete with it. The bar signs were also in a hand-drawn, organic shape rather than sharp-lined rectangles. My favorite element was the matchboxes featuring the couple's cats.
For the reception space, we brought more red to the tables with the menus next to the beautiful red-patterned plates, which also had guests' names printed directly on them to serve as place cards. The table numbers were a choice I loved with the red that added some drama, smoke acrylic with white lettering. Smoke acrylic is a translucent black that ends up appearing more as a dark gray which felt softer than opting for a stark black.
Lastly, we chose a ruffled fabric sign for the welcome sign—I love fabric signs mostly because they are easy to move from Ceremony to Reception, which is exactly what Kevin and Maya chose to do.
This was a beautiful day, a touch of rain for good luck, and the lush florals and colors with the backdrop of Mt. Hood were absolutely breathtaking. Congratulations Kevin and Maya, wishing you a lifetime of happiness!
